Life and Education
Huseynov Jeyhun Tofiq  was born on May 16, 1999, in Baku, Azerbaijan. He spent part of his early childhood (1999–2003) living in Moscow. In 2005, he began his education at Secondary School No. 252 in Baku, continuing there until the fourth grade. Later, he was admitted to Baku Private Turkish High School through an entrance exam.

During his school years, Jeyhun actively participated in international olympiads, winning silver medals in Mathematics and English, and a gold medal in Geography. In the seventh grade, he completed a three-month internship in New York City. He also took part in United Nations committee sessions in Italy, where he delivered speeches.

From ninth to eleventh grade, Jeyhun continued his studies at the Academic Zarifa Aliyeva High School, graduating with a gold medal. Throughout his education, he consistently achieved top grades and obtained numerous international certificates.

In 2016, he scored 627 points on the national university entrance exam and was admitted to ADA University’s School of International Relations. During his undergraduate studies, he also participated in a student exchange program in Japan. In 2022, he began a master's degree in "Peace and Conflict Resolution" at Tel Aviv University and successfully completed his studies in 2023.

Patriotism


Jeyhun Huseynov was well known for his patriotism. Despite receiving an offer to pursue doctoral studies in Brussels at the age of 25, he chose to first fulfill his military service out of a strong sense of duty to his homeland. He shared the same patriotic spirit as his uncle, Huseynov Jeyhun Tahir oglu, who was martyred during battles in the village of Talish in 1994.

Aside from his academic achievements, Jeyhun was a talented musician who could play the guitar and piano, was passionate about sports, and regularly recited the Quran. He was also a polyglot, fluent in English, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, Indonesian, and Chinese.

Martyrdom


On June 9, 2024, just 20 days before the completion of his military service, Jeyhun went missing near the village of Gunnyuk in the Sadarak District of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. His body was discovered on June 11, 2024, in the neutral zone.

According to witness testimonies, it is believed that Jeyhun was fatally shot by enemy fire. Court proceedings regarding the incident are ongoing.

He was laid to rest in the village of Genze, Ordubad District, alongside his grandfather and his martyred uncle, Huseynov Jeyhun Tahir.
